The 2015 Sugar Bowl is bound to be a great time. Whether you’re a fan traveling to the Superdome to cheer your team to victory or a local that just wants to soak up the energy of an exciting football game, The Big Easy will be a thrilling place to be on January 1st. With all of the excitement and competition in the air, it can be easy to find yourself in trouble and in need of help from a criminal defense lawyer. New Orleans is certainly a great place to let loose and get caught up in the game, but here are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure that your Sugar Bowl experience is drama free.

Have a Plan for Your Ride

Although it goes without saying, it is never a good idea to drink and drive. Here in New Orleans, especially around the Superdome, there are many options for public transportation. You can take a streetcar, a Pedicab, or a cab. The city is also incredibly accessible for walking.

Know What Areas to Avoid

Most of the visiting fans will probably stay in hotels very close to the Superdome. You can also expect the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and the surrounding streets to get extremely crowded as football fans attend viewing parties and celebrate after the game. If you’re not interested in being caught up in the tidal waves of rowdy fans and the trouble they often cause, it may serve you well to head slightly further out from the epicenter of the Superdome and the downtown area. If you want to be in the center of the madness, make sure to travel in groups so that you’re never in an unknown area alone.

Keep the Peace

After the game, don’t be a sore loser or winner. Tension will be running high, so now is not the time to start a fight with fans of the opposing team. Remember that, at the end of the day, you’re all in town to celebrate the game you love. Who knows, you might even make a new friend!

Keeping just a few of these tips in mind can help ensure that your Sugar Bowl celebration doesn’t end with a visit to a local criminal defense lawyer. New Orleans can get wild; so if you find yourself in a jam don’t hesitate to seek out help. Here at NOLA Criminal Law, I’m prepared to help you solve any problem as quickly and painlessly as possible. Now let’s get ready for some football!
