Most people arrested for party-related crimes in he French Quarter or other parts of the city find themselves with a case pending in New Orleans Municipal Court. Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, and big conventions where young folks and professionals let loose are examples of situations that can lead to arrest or summons, and prosecution in Municipal Court.

In almost all misdemeanor, municipal and traffic cases I can represent a client in his or her absence (“in absentia”). This means that out-of-state clients who have an ongoing case in Louisiana may, if they desire, return to their home leaving the defense of their case to me. There is a negligible additional fee involved in representing a client in absentia.
